Hi, I'm Michael Novy. Pleased to meet you, I can tell we're going to be dear friends. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I grew up on the sunshine coast where my golden locks flourished in the harsh equatorial sun. My nubile skin tainted a golden brown, except for those areas clad in tight black denim or cotton. I am a direct product of my environment, with musical interests in hardcore and a home-made tattoo illustrating my love to party. I started bodyboarding around 12 years ago, with early influences being Johnno Bruce for his tight pocket surfing, Ryan Hardy for his power and control and Stewart for his all-round legendary status.
I recenty relocated to the Central Coast of NSW in order to pursue a more fruitfull bodyboarding career than can be achieved on the Sunny Coast. Living with Chad Waldron, director of Boom! Podcasts has helped build my profile and the myriad of waves on offer in this area has helped me round out my ability in all conditions. Im currently sponsored by NMD Bodyboards, Unite Clothing Company, Agent 18 Wetsuits, Stealth Accessories and Inverted Bodyboard Shop! Some of my achievements are being The QLD State Champion, 2nd in the Nationals, 7th in the Pipeline World Tour event and third place in the broken back out indies award. I have been Voted 8th in World by my peers in the Riptide Peer Poll 2009 and heralded as 'our future world champ' in Movement magazine issue 27. I have also graced the covers of all 3 Australian Bodyboarding magazines, including the latest Movement covers and been featured in over 20 Bodyboarding films.
Other than bodyboarding, I enjoy snowboarding, spearfishing, karaoke, obscure english comedy and mojitos. If I was to some myself up in 5 words I would use the following:
